Iphone Health App Cycling
This seems very odd since years ago Apple publicly claimed that the Health app would automatically know the difference between walking, cycling, etc. and track accordingly. I found many people complaining about this in forums and the only "solution" I've read is to install a 3rd party app such as iBiker.

My understanding is that the health app is supposed to automatically track cycling (just as the pedometer does for walking). However, I've ben reading a lot of third party app makers who want to tie into the health app have been stalled (or are releasing their app minus the link to the health app on the iPhone) because of issues. Best cycling app I have found I have been using ridewithgps since 2015 and it has become my favorite cycling app and website. It allows me to plan safe routes for my rides in advance and then use my smart phone to navigate the route on my bike. The Health app can already track data about your cycle from third-party apps (such as Clue), but with the launch of iOS 13, you'll be able to log data right in the app. Health doesn't automatically add a chart for cycling, so the data may be in there but "hidden". Look under health data, fitness, cycling distance in the Health app. If it isn't there, try un-linking Strava and linking again, that fixed it for me. (Health.app, sources tab)
